They say a Monument tells a thousand stories.
Ok, so they don’t, we just made that up, but it’s true. From the history they contain to the place in local folk and global cycling culture they hold. From the drama unfolding on the road to the absolute scenes unfolding on the side of the road. It’s a tale as old as time, so for the second year running we bring you our own homage to those colourful days of spring, specifically Milan San-Remo and the Tour of Flanders.
Things tend to bloom in March. Plants, flowers and bike racing. Don’t get us wrong, the early season races are a blast, but the Monuments is when the rubber really hits the road. Or the cobbles.
From Italy’s gleaming Mediterranean coast to the brutal Belgian bergs, the most dramatic, high-stakes, electrifying racing is here. They might only last a day but we want to live them all year long.
